Autumn is all I am about right now—in my choice of drink (red wine), dress (ugg boots all the way) and at home so, so many candles. I am absolutely ready for the weather to match the season and for my pad to to follow suit. Which got me to thinking, what really makes a house feel cosy for autumn?
Bring in the textiles
Knits, faux furs, nubby wools, velvet—use throws and pillows in super tactile materials that have a nice weight and softness to them. Layer them on sofas and chairs, and don't be afraid of a floor pillow.
Create your own colour palette
You all know I am a huge fan of the dark side and will try to convert you to the dark side too. It is literally the best thing I have ever done and can't encourage you enough to do it more. With the cold weather settling in, now is the best time to trail dark colours. The rich, indulgent moody colours are super-cosy for this time of year. Just look how cosy these spaces look...
Light up, light up a fire - or candles at least. This will give an instant autumnal vibe and up your snuggle vibe. Trust me.
