Subscription gifts are perfect when you’re stuck for prezzie inspiration. They’re easy to order online, no fuss, super for last minute and are such a nice thing to receive. The gift that keeps on giving! Here’s my round-up of the coolest subscriptions to treat someone to this year (including treating yourself if you’re so inclined)…
Clockwise from top left: Stack magazines | Carnivore Club | Pact coffee | Yoco Club whiskey | Flower club | The Spicery | Cookery book subscription | La Dinette macaron | Glossybox | Not Another Bill | Bloomon | Luxury tea, Quintessentially English
Everyone loves a new glossy mag through the post, it’s actually my favourite time of the month. Rather than the bogstandard mag subsciption though, if you’re looking for something a bit different Stack magazines are fab. They have a different bundle of independent magazines each month, some of which you can’t even buy in stores. My favourite is Cereal, it’s beautifully shot and so cool – definitely not your standard travel mag. For something a bit weightier (literally actually) you could sign them up for a book subscription with The Beautiful Book Company. They have heaps, but with my recipe obsession I’d probably go for the cookery book subscription.
There are oodles of amazing subscription gifts for the foodie in your life. How about amazing cured meat and artisan charcuterie bits from the Carnivore Club? Or if they’re into curries, get them a subscription from The Spicery. They’ll get a different recipe each month and all the spices they need to create their own amazing curries from scratch. Might take them out of their comfort zone a bit, but the recipes are simple to follow and so much cooler and classier than a Friday night takeaway! I’m getting these for everybody, and hoping they invite me round for dinner. Hint hint.
Not forgetting the drinks too. Yoco Club delivers the finest single malt Scotch whiskey every month (definitely a present I’d appreciate), and caffeine addicts should all be signed up for Pact Coffee. They introduce you to fresh, handroasted coffee beans from Fairtrade estates around the world. Or a tea snob would love the luxury tea package from Quintessentially English.
No pad is complete without flowers, end of. For fresh flower arrangements you won’t beat Bloomon for value and impact. Starting from £20, they have bouquets in three different sizes (the large is huge and totally statement-worthy). The flowers are delivered direct to your door, plus with the right sized vase to display them. Or you can join our Flower Club to be one of the cool kids who fake it. After a consultation to find out what you love and hate when it comes to flowers, Gem and the team will create beautiful bouquets from our seasonal range of fauxs. Delivered every eight weeks, you’ll get six extraordinary bouquets in total so it’s super value. And of course the best bit is that if you look after them, they’ll last forever!
These are nice little “just because” treats. Send your girl friends (or your perfectly maquillaged guy friends) the latest make-up and beauty products from Glossybox. They come beautifully packaged up each month, with full-size products and even some exclusives from fab brands like Ilamasqua or Nars. Not Another Bill offers a really cool lucky dip type subscription, with everything from luxury stationery to handthrown ceramic cups. The perfect surprise prezzie for the most tasteful person on your Christmas list! And lastly, La Dinette will send macaroons through the post every month. Why not?
