@romanandwilliams: these guys are one of my all-time design heroes. I love their instagram account for transporting me to surreal moments of beauty, be it interiors, fashion, art, surrealist movements, landscapes or even poetry. Gorgeous.
If you do one thing this weekend go and take a look at Selfridge’s amazing new shop windows. They’re all themed around “Shakespeare Refashioned”, with each fashion designer reimagining a classic play. They’re visually stunning to look at – pure fashion fantasy! The VM team have done the most incredible job. Best of all, in the Midsummer Night’s Dream window our botanicals get to share the stage with Alexander McQueen. Love! While you’re there, drop by the lower ground homeware floor to check out our own-label collection in Selfridge’s too.
In case you missed it, yesterday I was in conversation with James Swan from Million Dollar Decorating. You can catch up on the whole interview here – and if you’re a design lover, I can definitely recommend the podcast for your regular listening pleasure!
I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the ultra-swish No.197 Chiswick Fire Station. The indoor/outdoor bar opened in April this year, and has the coolest relaxed, laidback vibe. Furnishings have been meticulously sourced, including traditionally made and upholstered sofas, terracotta tiles from Bert and May, beautiful handmade chunky oak chairs and original artwork. I’ve been eyeing up their brunch menu – “Panfried Field Mushrooms, Marinated Ricotta, Truffle Balsamic & Parmesan on Toasted Sourdough”? Yes please. Perfect with a coffee (or maybe even one of their brunch cocktails!) on an indulgent Sunday morning.
