FAVOURITE HALLWAYS OF 2015

Posted on December 21 2015

Here’s a design resolution for 2016 – let’s not neglect our hallways! So often they’re left bare and unadorned, playing second fiddle to other spaces like our living rooms. It doesn’t have to be this way though! Halls can be stunning, jaw on the floor spaces just like any other room – more so even, I’d say. As they’re areas that you’re just passing through, you can go way bolder and ballsier than in a place like your living room or bedroom, where you’ll be lingering for longer. The hallway is your chance to make a statement about you and your amazing style from the second that guests step through your front door. Let’s make sure it’s a good first impression!

To get you thinking, these are my 15 favourite hallways that have caught my eye in 2015. Hardly surprising that I came away with tons of ideas while I was snooping around some of the coolest homes in the world for COLOUR. I was totally blown away by the faux marbling in Jean-Louis Deniot’s apartment, the bold colour combos of Sue Miller’s London pad, and not forgetting the massive artwork in Athena Calderone’s Brooklyn home. If I could whittle down what makes a fab hallway into just three elements, I’d say: go bold with colour, big with the artwork, and don’t forget to make sure the stairs are cool too!

You’ll see these tricks again and again in these hallways. Think dramatic stripes, amazing unexpected colour pairings, leopard print stairs, neon artwork, or the coolest giant canvases in Courtney Cox’s home. It all just helps to make the first space in our homes the coolest.
