Giddy Eclecticism

Forget everything I said about my new cooking regime yesterday. The oven’s blown up and the fridge’s on the blink. I went downstairs to roast the lamb (btw I hate really hate lamb but I’m trying to make myself not. I reckoned if I covered it with enough anchovies it would counteract the smell of it which makes me want to heave. Shouldn’t have bothered the fridge’s thermostat had lost the plot with itself and frozen everything in it and then when I turned the oven on a big bang and everything fused and now it refuses to work! Lit a fire, poured a glass and considered tucking into Maud and Mung’s supper, venison and wild rabbit terrain anyone? The shower has also decided to play up and now has to be turned on with a pair of pliers and on top of that the builders who promised I would have a new master bedroom in a few weeks are changing the goal posts. Pissed off to say the least.

Lets however not focus on the negative and my silly problems instead I’ve got some fab pics for you of Marino Testino’s LA pad recently featured in US Vogue. He designed it himself which delighted me as I was worried for a sec it might look like all those other LA pads, money and no taste. Fear not he has filled it with stuff from far flung climes, coupled classics with unique and done a pretty darn good job. You open up a window onto the world when you fill you house with things from other cultures, I am obsessed with it I have to say. Bits and bobs from all over the globe gives any pad added kudos.  Mario explains far better than me, actually makes me want to hop onto a plane and go somewhere exotic this instant:

“And I enjoy the idea of all the different cultures meeting here. Japan meets Peru, Peru meets America, America meets England, England meets Denmark, Denmark meets France, you know. Total integration of cultures. I guess it’s the future, no?”

Happy Thursday,  I’ve got a morning of it as am shooting Maud and Mungo to go on our soon to be re launched website.  They are heading up the delivery team they wanted a role in the business so I thought they could be in charge of the couriering operations. .So its bath time (never an enjoyable experience) a comb (which they both hate) and then I need them to sit like the sweet little brother and sister they are on my chair  at my desk for pictures! Like that’s going to happen!
