"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well", says Virgina Woolf.
I couldn't agree more! Whether you're giving a dinner party for twelve or sharing a takeaway for two, a thoughtful setting can make any meal feel special. I love to mix and match my style, so I thought I would put together a few simple guidelines so you can nail your Christmas lunch.
TRAYS & BOARDS
Mix materials - marble, wood or concrete to add texture and colour.
If you have any fab serving pieces, use them to add height - a cool stand makes even the simplest cake look yummy!
Keep this at the edge of the table so guests can easily refill their glasses themselves.
SERVING BOWLS & PLATTERS
keep dressings next to salads and seasoning near main courses. If possible leave some space between each dish so people can put down their plate and use both hands for serving.
Tea time is always a necessity at Christmas. Pick tea cups with various styles, this could be vintage piece or stylish tea and saucers you love.
TRAY AS A BAR
A bar trolley isn't necessary, but their great fun, just use a tray to hold spirits, shakers and stir sticks.
Don't worry if you don't have complete sets. Simply put out a selection and lets gets choose the style they like best.
