I love, love, love this new idea: Wabi-Sabi. In fact, I am going to say it's the new trend for 2018, and I DON'T follow trends.
As you guys know, I am a maximalist. Messiness is an inevitable part of everyday life, and our homes should be inviting and encourage play—not in still fear at the thought of a spill, in a minimalist home.
Wabi-sabi is a Japanese view that celebrates imperfection, and Elle Dec says, "No matter your personal style, there is one key factor to nailing this trend for your home design: Find the beauty in the not-so-perfect" - my sentiments exactly.
That's why in my designs, I have never designed to perfection, I love to celebrate the imperfections and the natural beauty of nature. That's why my faux botanicals are inspired from the British countryside, with its different lush greens, and wild flowers.
The same goes for my vases and accessories - decorative accents like vases and trays with organic lines and imperfections.WABI-SABI PIECES
