I love biz column Fridays although this has been one of the craziest weeks yet. Big things are happening with our brand (all to be revealed soon) and its been a week of 4.30am starts so I’m a little weary today. That said I wouldn’t have it any other way, its exciting times ahead, I just wish there were 48 hours in each day!

I don’t know about you guys but I can’t lap up business advice fast enough. Last year Mark Zuckerberg challenged himself to read a new book every two weeks (super impressive). These had to be books that expanded his mind, challenged him and introduced him to new cultures, beliefs, and histories. You can see his full list here.

I’m not setting my sights quite so high, but I try to read a biz book once a month. Recently I devoured The Monocle Guide To Good Business and I would totally encourage anyone with a business or is even just thinking of starting a business to read it. I’ve stuck post-it notes over half of mine, and come away from every flick through it buzzing with new ideas. I loved the vibe, the message and inspiration.

Everyone featured in the book is passionate about what they do. It’s not your standard biz book it’s more of a guide – introducing people with aspiring stories, sharing their passion, how they got started and what inspires them. It celebrates craftsmanship, innovation and companies with strong sustainability agendas. All packaged up as easy to read nuggets of advice. Thoroughly recommend. And we must be doing something right because we’ve got not one office dog, but two!

Next up on my retail reading list is The Shopkeepers: Storefront Businesses and the Future of Retail. I’m hunting for more inspiration for our new flagship store… I’ll keep you guys up to date with that.
