Before I kick start this mornings biz post I just wanted to mention that our sale begins today at 10am. 20% off many pieces, nice hey!
So mornings are my best time of the day I love them. I’m up at 5:00 usually, which I know some find bonkers but it’s wonderful for me. Many CEO’s embrace an early start – Frank Lloyd Wright used to wake at 4am, Rover Iger at Disney was up at 4.30 – and there is a reason for that, mainly you are way more productive. Here’s a glimpse of my usual morning routine before 9:00 am:
5:00 AM
Wake up. I get the radio on and potter downstairs for a hot drink. This is oftentimes hot water and lemon, or sometimes a turmeric latte which I’m kind of obsessed with.
5:20 AM
Check emails. We have a lot of communication with Asia who are 7 hours ahead, so after my drink I quickly scan emails from the Far East plus anything urgent that might have come in overnight from the States.
5:45 AM
Map out my day. I go through my schedule and write down my goals and to-do’s for the day. These keeps me on track and focused, even when it’s all going to hell in a handbasket!

6:20 AM
Time for exercise. This is either Pilates or swimming in the lido – when I’m swimming I run through the schedule in my head, when I’m Pilate-ing I’m just counting down the minutes ’til its over. Agony!!
7:30 AM
Back home to shower (and recover!)…
7:40 AM
Breakfast. It’s either overnight bircher, which I’ve made with organic oats, almond milk, orange, chia seeds and some toasted almond flakes. Or it’s some dates or brazil nuts, a banana or some juice. Depends on how cold I’ve gotten on the stroll back from the pool!
7:50 AM
This is my quiet time I have to myself. G does the morning dog walk so while he and the M’s are in the park and the team haven’t yet arrived, it’s the perfect time of day where I get the blog written for the day and also visualise what I’m working on. As odd as this sounds I see images in my head, products, room schemes, etc. etc. so this is my little quiet time where I sit, write and think through stuff.
8:15 AM
Have a meeting with G. G runs finances, logistics, special projects etc and has a general handle on all things going on so we have a quick pow-wow before everyone else arrives.
8:59 AM
And now, coffee. Team have arrived so it’s coffees all round with single estate milk and single estate coffee, served in a hand thrown cup (I am so fussy about my coffee I have to admit). And the day commences!
