BOUNDARY PUSHING SWEDEN

Gemma and I are off on our travels again very soon to Sweden in August. I am so excited and can’t wait to immerse myself into the super-trendy vibe that encompasses this amazing city.

One place I hope to have a cocktail or two at is the intriguingly named boutique hotel, Miss Clara in central Stockholm. Once an old school the hotel is named after the beloved, boundary-pushing headmistress, Miss Clara in 1910.

The team at Architect Gert Wingårdh’s has preserved many of its dainty art nouveau features so it melts into its surroundings. I love the look of the retro bar and it apparently has a killer Nordic menu to boot.

There are seven storeys, bound together by the original staircase with dark parquet flooring, marble and crystal fittings in the bar area, and high-quality leather upholstery. This is the sort of place Gem and I will want to hang around in for a while. The 92 rooms and suites are decorated in a simple but covetable array of crisp linens, dark wood furniture, and thick marble bath fittings – can.not.wait!
