For Christmas I want a dressing room, Father Christmas if you are listening, please please please. Rather than poking around in my wardrobe and slinging everything on to the floor (as happens most mornings) wouldn’t it be fab to have a dedicated dressing room.
I blame Jenna Lyons personally – ever since I saw her incredible dressing room (below) I’ve been hooked. Then there’s Nanette Lepore’s fab wardrobe room. How wonderful are they? Personal, eclectic and beyond beautiful.
The key to making a dressing room look more like a room you want to hang out in is to fill it with things like paintings, books, flowers and comfy chairs. The only problem being I would never leave – and now I just need the clothes collection to go with the room. Believe it or not I have no clothes – or nothing at least I like!
All of this got me to thinking what on earth is the point of spare rooms – places you rarely venture into and only occasionally use to put up friends and family. Sorry, no more friends or family visiting, no more sleepovers, I’m very seriously considering turning the spare bedroom into a closet! After all there are a couple of super cool hotels nearby, so any guests could stay at The Hoxton or Shoreditch House instead. I wouldn’t be too selfish though, I’d share my new dressing room with Maud. She has a little smattering of jazzy little leads, collars and the odd winter coat for those below zero days. The pair of us would be in heaven.
