I should mention before I kick off today that it’s the very last few days of sale, both in the shops and at our online store. Next week sees a complete overhaul of the collection – just wait ’til you see the new website and brochure on the botanicals! It comes with a public health warning: may induce fainting and dizziness as it’s so cool!
Back to biz, I’ve been obsessed with this house for the longest time. It’s the Milan home of Beatrice Rossetti and Piero Gemelli. Between them they have created one of the most inspirational living spaces I have ever seen, and although I’ve definitely pinched some of their ideas before (desks as a nightstand, anyone), I thought it deserved a proper house crush post. To say this pad is one of a kind is not enough – it tantalizes, it entices, and it beckons you in to hunker down on the sofa. Extra impressive when you know that it was originally a cavernous factory in Milan. Well now it’s been transformed into a cosy, earth-toned Aladdin’s cave of gorgeousness. The dark palette, the collection of art, the furniture – oh my god – still suffering pangs of jealousy years later! All the photos are by Piero Gemelli – simply exquisite.
