What is portable lighting?
No plugs? No problem. Portable lighting is a revolutionary and hassle free way you can illuminate your home, especially in those hard to light spots. Eliminating the need for cords, our portables are wireless and don't need to a plug to use them, so you can take them anywhere you want. Our range of portables are either battery operated or rechargeable, so aside from charging them up from time to time, there's not limit to where you can use them.
How long does the charge last? And how do I charge them?
The amount of time that the charge lasts really varies between portables - our Cecily Portable Lamp for example is rechargeable and full charge will lasts approx 5-6 hrs, whereas our Mushroom Portable Lamps are battery operated and will last between 7-8 hours. Portables dim slowly as they lose their charge.
Batteries are not included with our portables, but the charging cable for our rechargeable lamps do. We recommend using high quality rechargeable batteries with our battery operated lamps.
Can I take them outside?
Our portable lamps aren't intended for long term outside use, but you can definitely take them outside for short periods of time for a bit of al fresco dining or a cosy evening in the garden. Just don't leave them out overnight!
What lightbulb do I need for my portable lamp?
All of our AA portable lamps come with an integrated bulb, so all you need to do is add batteries or charge them up and they're ready to go!
How do I operate them? And can they be dimmed?
Although it varies from lamp to lamp, in general our portables are operated either from an on/off switch on the bottom, or from a small touch button at the base. A few of our lamps do have a dimmable option or a warm/cold setting, but it varies between portables. Please see the individual product descriptions for more information.
How do I style them in my home?
Portables are the perfect lighting accessory for accent lighting in a room - lamps that you can load up on everywhere, and Abi's favourite design trick. Plop them everywhere and anywhere, on side tables, consoles, on central islands and on the floor to create glowing pockets of light and cosy, intimate spaces.
