Each time I create a designers at Debenhams collection (or an own-label collection, for that matter!) it has to have three of my key ingredients: glamour, eclecticism and a touch of wit. For this season I looked to hotter climes for my inspiration and have been inspired by the beautiful colour palette and iconic wildlife of Africa.
We all know I love animal accessories – they bring just the right amount of humour and irreverence to any interior! For my ABIGAIL AHERN/EDITION collections I spend quite a bit of time researching animals that have oodles of charm and character. I gravitate towards edgy, attitude-y animals, so this season you’ll find a menagerie of lions, ostriches, monkeys… with sumptuous flocking and bold saturated hues, all of them have been given a big dose of glamour.
The collection will be in Debenhams stores up and down the country, as well as debenhams.com. The first few pieces are already available to buy online, and more will be arriving over the coming weeks so stay tuned! Here’s a few of my personal faves:
Ostrich lamp: a cute ostrich chick to brighten up your room. I love this little guy!
Antler ornament: inspired by traditional African textiles, particularly the Kente cloth of Ghana, these bold antlers will jazz up your pad.
Crocodile t-light holder: I have a real croc obsession at the mo. This metallic t-light holder is a funky diffusion version of the gold crocodile trays I’ve developed for our own label. They’re hanging out together all over my pad.
Appliqué elephant cushion: texture meets pattern meets pom poms – our new elephant cushion oozes attitude and style.
Hippo money box: a glossy black hippo to guard your savings!
