Simple Shifts That Make A Room Feel Richer
Autumn isn’t about starting again, it’s about going deeper. Richer textures, softer light and more natural elements create a home that feels calmer, warmer and more you. Here are five simple shifts I always come back to.
01 | Go Supersized With A Mirror
A large mirror bounces light around the room, creates depth and makes even a quieter corner feel more expansive. It’s one of the quickest ways to lift a space without cluttering it.
Abi's Note:
Bigger is (almost) always better!
02 | Add Wild Botanicals
Branches, seedheads and looser stems bring movement, shape and a more natural rhythm into a room. I always prefer something a little wild over anything too neat or pretty.
03 | Layer The Lighting
Table lamps, portable lamps and floor lamps create little pools of warmth that make a room feel instantly more atmospheric. Never rely on one source of light, layer it.

04 | Bring In Scent
Scent finishes a room. Candles or incense add another layer that changes the mood completely, making a space feel calmer, warmer and more immersive.
05 | Add Softness
Texture is what makes a room feel inviting. Layer tactile bedding, chunky weaves, cushions and throws so the rooms feels softer, deeper and more cocooning as the season shifts.
