HOW TO CREATE YOUR DREAM HOME
The Den - Cocoon In Style
Without question this is my sanctuary, there is a true mind, body and space connection, it contrasts, blends and transitions seamlessly with the adjoining rooms but remains a cosy snug to hunker down.

FEELING INSPIRED?
An evening hangout, the place where to flop at the end of a busy day, fully switch off and watch your latest binge worthy drama. The decor needs to feel harmonious, calm and completely cocooning.
HERE'S HOW
Creating your snug starts with colour. A saturated dark hue with complex undertones that change throughout the day, culminating in a soothing dark but soft tone when the natural light fades. The ideal backdrop to furniture and accessories and a soft transition into the adjoining rooms. Layer your lighting to set the mood, paring back the colour palette to build cohesion and adding in key homey elements such as rugs, cushions, botanicals and accessories to make it personal and add character.

Snug Design Notes
✓ Design Do's
- Pare back your palette to create harmonious cohesion
- Arrange your seating away from the walls
- Create cosy nooks with accent chairs
- Disguise the TV by using a dark colour on the wall behind it
- Personalise the space with accessories and art
✗ Design Don'ts
- Arrange your furniture just around the perimeter of the room
- Be afraid of the dark, saturated colours feel cosy
- Skimp on the lighting, ramp up your table lamps
- Underestimate texture, it creates cohesion, intrigue and cosiness
- Play it too safe, memorable interiors take risks
