One of our bestselling hues, It's grey but has undertones of green which change with the light. It's a colour that connects you with the subtle currents of nature. Awe-inspiring, rich and joyful. AA has painted her den overlooking the garden in the lower ground floor in it and its so beautiful.
Identifying your own Perfect Palette
Make it personal! Think outside the box and push yourself a little out of your comfort zone, as playing it safe can result in rooms that read as visually flat and uninspiring. Select colours that reflect your personality and that you love. Think about how they affect you and work out what mood you want to create in each room. Once you've selected your faves, try to limit the number of hues in a room, this should be no more than three, possibly four and then repeat throughout. Echo the colours in rugs, accessories and lamps etc to create cohesion, balance and harmony.
Abi has turned her second guest room around with this warm, brown-based, most reassuring of hues. Its so soft and so earthy that it creates instant elegance in any room. Stunning with neutral accessories as well as black accents, it makes for the most beautiful sophisticated backdrop ever!
Marsh is a deeply saturated, earthy, soft, incredibly serene colour. It at once connects you with nature and creates the most relaxed rooms on the planet.

"Think rocky deserts, lush forests, baked clays, warm earthy tones that take inspiration from nature."
Colour Drenching
Once you've decided on your chosen palette, consider how to use your colours. Consider using this method to create your perfect backdrop. It's about taking a fabulous hue and using it everywhere - walls, ceiling, radiators, doors etc, it creates a perfect framework for your furnishings and decor and blurs the stark lines, making your room feel more cohesive, sophisticated and stylish. Be Confident
with Colour
Think about what you want your home to communicate to the outside world. No one will be talking about your beige-on-beige home, so go a little crazy. Be reckless, I say! The more your confidence grows, the more you’ll feel like experimenting with colour. Be brave! To start with, decorating with colour can seem like a daunting task. Colour behaves differently accordingly to where you put it. The effect changes again once you add lighting, pattern, texture and greenery into the mix.
Oh, and do remember to paint out the biggest test patch that you can. Paint large strips of lining paper so that you can move it around the room and see how the light hits it at different times of the day. Never ever go by the colour chip alone.
Happy Decorating!
