Can anyone tell me how we are actually in October already?

Leaves everywhere, the smell of the earth - damp, musky with a bit of sweetness, beyond beautiful. I love October in London. With Design School officially over for the year I get Saturdays back so its lots of trips to Borough, walks in the Royal Parks and a potter along the South Bank.

It’s a month of two halves for me split between being here in the UK and then whizzing to India and China where temps will certainly be in the mid 30’s. We are in the midst of signing off AW25 and working on SS26. The brief to myself is to craft immersive atmospheric pieces that evoke emotions. From vases that show the imprint of the hands that crafted them, to seductive shaggy cushions, to botanicals, I’m thinking roadside weeds, untamed wild grasses and fruiting branches!

Meanwhile, it's almost time to think about the C word! So excited, we have the most beautiful wreaths and twinkling accessories and tea lights, I've popped a sneak peek below.

We shot many of them on location and it takes a team to deliver the kind of content and images we produce am super blessed to have such a wonderful team. Here’s a little behind the scenes sneak peak of us trying to block warm southerly light pouring in to soften the contrast!

This month, I'm working on carving out some me time. I’m trying for half an hour (ideally an hour) an evening to read or find new music. I feel I’ve really neglected books and not just books magazines, newspapers so I’ve pushed back supper by an hour so I can sit opposite the fire and dip into books from novels to mags. Here is what's currently on my list:

This book is amongst Barack Obama’s favourite books and it’s the best book Oprah has ever read in her entire life and as she says she has been reading since 4! Imbued with humour, deep emotion and the essence of life, documented as one of the most masterful literary novels published in recent years.

I’ve also just started a subscription with Monocle magazine. I love this magazine it briefs on global affairs, biz, culture, design and more and its jam packed with info.
