5 minute decorating details to transform a room

I love talking about details, little things that turn rooms from drab to fab in a Nano second. Flowers, plants, books, candles, objects, extremely personalised stuff that you’ve picked up on travels, brought because you’ve fallen immediately in love or had handed down.

Forget functional and practical and turn mantles, tables, and consoles into vignettes that tell a story about you.

ADD PIECES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD

Flowers make me feel good, as do plants and candles I plonk them anywhere and everywhere.

ANCHOR THINGS ON TRAYS AND PLATTERS

I say this a lot I know but you can instantly make a hodge podge grouping of things feel instantly curated if you ground objects on platters or trays. It elevates them instantly!

ALWAYS ADD BOOKS

I’ve got books on every surface, a little pile of three usually. Novels, interior tomes, mags – I’ll plop some plant or candle on top and wham-bam nailed!

ADD ZINGY POPS

I used too add zingy pops, now I’ve really reigned in the palette but there is no wrong and no right. Do what feels instinctive, my way isn’t the right way I just happen to prefer it.
