Debenhams AW15

Hi guys, today I’m very excited to show you all the latest ABIGAIL AHERN/EDITION collection I’ve designed for Debenhams.

Last week I gave a bit of an insight into the product design process and how it works. Well with Debenhams we always start with a theme.

For Spring/Summer it was exotic adventures, think bright, flamboyant colours, flamingoes, tropical animals, zebra print and pompom trims.

This collection is a bit closer to home and also fits right in with the cabin vibe that I can’t get enough of this season! I took inspiration from the British countryside, hunting lodges and woodland wildlife. So there’s beagles, rams, badger, rabbits, stags and the most gorgeous highland cow all hanging out together. It’s very tactile – velvet is always a must for Fall in my book – and colours are rich but subtler, like earthy browns, burnt reds and purples.

The collection is now in Debenhams stores up and down the country, and you can check it out online. There are tons of pieces, but here in no particular order are my three personal favourites:

Highland cow head: Gorgeously lovable, shaggy and flocked. I’ve nicknamed him Angus.

Velvet crow bookends: Some of the cleverest creatures in the animal kingdom. Add a bit of canny gothic edge to your bookshelf.

Flocked velvet antlers: Reinvent the hunting lodge vibe. Faux taxidermy is where its at – funkier and of course cruelty-free.
