HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOUSE LOOK MORE EXPENSIVE

HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOUSE LOOK MORE EXPENSIVE

We all want lust-worthy spaces right, things that instantly elevate without costing the earth.

MIX & MATCH

One of the easiest ways for giving any space a more elevated look is to contain your odds and ends, by putting them away or in cool storage boxes. Not only does it neatens things up, it up’s the style ratings all at the same time. Call me obsessed but I don’t have anything out that is ugly like remotes, keys, stuff. Even Monkey’s toys sit in a lovely basket (Maud for some reason doesn’t play with any toys in case you were wondering why I said only Monkey’s). I digress!

PAINT

Another trick is to paint any cabinet or dresser that you may have picked up at a second hand store or flea market the same colour as your walls so it recedes. What happens is that anything you then plop on is instantly elevated. Trust me on this!

RUGS

Rug up! I’ve gotten beautiful old rugs from flea markets of the Turkish and Persian variety soft underfoot a little faded that add such personality to a space and luxe it up no end.

MIRROR. MIRROR

Mirror Up. The quickest simplest trick on the planet is to plop a mirror on a wall as it expands horizons and adds depth and instantly elevates your space from something basic to something cool! Just remember to make sure you are reflecting something back at you rather than a blank wall. Nailed!
