As soon as the decs come down we tend to re-evaluate our living space, whether you're mourning the fairy lights or loving the bare walls and minimal feels, January is a great time to make plans to refresh your space, whether that's a little zhuzh or a major renovation, enjoy the magical feeling of re-invigorating your sanctuary.

Abi's Bedroom Makeover

Hello January

Happy New Year!
I happen to love January. Now I know not so many people do, as its still cold and dark (this side of the world) but for me welcoming in a new year is such a good time to recalibrate, reset and fresh and there is so much to be excited about.

Across my social feeds this month I’m constantly going to be talking about change. From big changes to small changes whether that’s with food, wellness, work I’ll be imparting all the things I’m doing. Jo Malone, who has an excellent course on BBC Maestro says "in order to discover new oceans you have to lose sight of the shore and leave things behind to create new opportunities.” I so relate to her words.

So read on for some big changes happening with the biz here in the UK and the US (so exciting) and the low-down on my mini bedroom reno which has a snuggly cabin in the woods vibe, I love it!

Happy 2025 - let's hope it's a good one.

What's Going On

at Abigail Ahern

From a biz perspective big things are happening. We have just launched in the US with renowned homeware brand Crate and Barrel (who have the most amazing repertoire of must have pieces) an AA botanical collection. With over 89 stores in America not to mention other countries like Canada, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Taiwan you will now be able to buy our botanicals in every store and online! A year and a half in the making its our biggest collab yet and the one I am the proudest of. It is such a privilege to work with their amazing team and create a collection that will literally elevate every tablescape. From the kitchen counter to the bedside table we’ve literally got you covered!

Back in the UK we’ve started off 2025 with a bang paying a lot of attention to statement seating, introducing a beautiful collection of occasional, side and coffee tables and luxing up interiors with a collection of plants that will literally soften everything. Our vases are our most beautiful yet, as stunning filled with flowers as unadorned. I’m off to the States as I write where we will be launching to the trade our SS25 collection so Atlanta, Vegas and NYC here I come! Oh and going via Santa Barbara and Dallas so it’s a bit of whirlwind Jan.

Abi's Bedroom Makeover

I’ve taken the plunge and finally revamped my primary bedroom. The most transformational change has been the addition of Envello cladding from Millboard (you will need specialists to install to make sure it is suitable as for all Millboard product installations, it is essential to verify that the product is appropriate for the intended application and complies with the specific project regulations). With its incredibly realistic grain it has made this room feel so cabin like. The curtains are new and from my Hillary’s range, Sulby Doe with Chimney fabric on the reverse (game changing as no white panels to see from the street anymore.) I popped some AA rugs down, some new AA furniture, opened up the fireplace and voila – in love!

I did wobble though, halfway through before all the dressing of the space begun I was seriously worried as I wasn’t seeing what I saw in my mind. Moral of the story don’t quit, walk away, come back, continue to dream, keep the faith and know that you and only you has the power to make things change and happen.

I've written about my bedroom makeover in detail in another journal post. See below.
