July Monthly Musings
Welcome to July's monthly musings. Now in the throws of mid-season, we're not only enjoying the feedback from some of our most recent launches, but looking ahead to the new seasons too.
July....
The long warm days of July always inspire me, particularly this month when there has been so much travel. We saw baking temps in NYC and Atlanta (100 Fahrenheit) where we were setting up our AW collections to showcase to buyers. Yet with all that heat I was blown away with how lush everything felt, particularly Atlanta.
We've announced our final 2 design classes for the year, so if you fancy hanging out in my pad for the day being super inspired to create your dream home with like minded interior obsessed friends then make sure book now.
I hope you enjoy my July musings, there's a lot of travel ahead and the biz is bonkers as per but I do try and get some downtime to keep me sane. Read on for some highlights from Altlanta, the books on my bedside and the clothes on my Wishlist.
Happy mid-summer madness to you all.
Biz Travels
Atlanta affectionately known as the city in the forest is covered in giant trees and foliage from Southern pines, magnificent oaks to magnolias and dogwoods and is so beautiful. Wherever you go its feels so lush which is quite incredible for a bustling busy city. We stayed in Midtown pretty close to the showroom and discovered the most beautiful restaurant to date.
Rumi’s Kitchen is a swanky place to dine, serving sensuous Persian cuisine. A few minutes away from our hotel it was a discovery that I am so glad we found as everytime we return to the city, which is a couple of times a year we are dining here! Before you even order you get served a plate of crackling flatbread with a platter of radishes, feta, walnuts, mint and tarragon. We sat the bar and ordered small plates of burnt aubergine, corn ribs, tahini hummous it was so good. I could literally eat there every night.
Newness at AA
With my head firmly into AW24 it was so lovely to get so many amazing messages regarding our newly launched natural wine collection. It really has changed the way I drink which is a lot less but a lot nicer!Talking of messages every time we launch statement pieces my feed fills to the brim with all your lovely messages giving me so much joy reading how much you are loving all our latest landings.
Check out the most popular pieces in your carts this month below.
Abi's Wardrobe Wishlist
With work being so full on I have had little time to think fashion and get out and about but I have a wish list. From statement clogs, jewellery from my limited capsule collection to oversized sunnies its all about statement pieces in my wardrobe as well as my home!
Statement Clog
Nothing makes me happier than a statement clog and this one is leather wedge clog from Loewe. The stylistic opportunities are endless and unlike any other sandal I will happily wear them all year round. With jeans or a chic long skirt – love them.
Asymmetric Jeans
A brand I am super obsessed with is R13. It’s an American brand with a rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic and rebellious attitude.Super slouchy clothes, punkish tops, and boots to die for are right up my street, I just need to save up!
Oversized Sunnies
Who doesn’t love an oversized sunnie? I lose mine all the time so my go to source is Primark. Tons of different styles at reasonable prices
What I'm Reading
I have a lot of plane travel coming up with a mega long trip to Australia so as well as Housewives on the ipad (thank God for housewives), I need a few books up my sleeve for those jet lagged early hours of the morning when the world is asleep but I’m tossing and turning and wishing dawn would speed up!
The Covenant Of Water - Abraham Verghese
According to Oprah its one of the best books she has read in here entire life and she has been reading since 3!
The Unwedding - Ally Condie
A easy light read for plane travel of which there is a lot!
Flavour - Sabrina Ghayour
inspired by my recent Atlanta trip to the fabulous restaurant Rumi’s in Atlanta I now want to eat everything Persian.
This online site of which I subscribe keeps me up to date with its analytical view on the global fashion and beauty industry. From biz advice to marketing I find I am always learning something.
Before I Go...
I wanted to share something that I am super excited, flattered and delighted about and that is to be asked to be a part of is the 20th year anniversary of Décor & Design held in Melbourne, Australia. I am a keynote speaker at this premier design event and I cannot wait to return to a country I so love. With a visit to the show with its unique mix of heritage and emerging brands and a whistle stop tour of this culinary city summer is a busy time but more on my trip in next months musings.
