Go with the Faux

Thankfully faux plants and artificial flowers are finally shedding their reputation for being naff, unrealistic and unstylish.  Here at AA we have been shouting about the benefits of these fabulous finishing touches for years. Real flowers and plants are wonderful but they aren't without their diva demands.  Faux are the easy going, low maintenance stalwarts that will change your pad up an instant, brightening unloved corners or windowless rooms effortlessly.

Eucalyptus Populus

Heather - Cream

Honey Bracelet - Desert

Senecio - Sage

Fakes all the way for me – I like nothing better than the challenge of taking something that people snootingly turn their noses up at and making it cool! Dark paint – check, faux flowers – check, faux botanicals check check.

Abi's top 5 reasons for why adding

faux is the way to go.

Abi's words of wisdom on why you should add these botanical beauties to your home.

1. The ultimate finishing touch.

"Bringing the essence of nature into your home is a great way to add a calm and comforting vibe.  If you want to create a focal point with botanicals my advice is to go oversized on the vase like our Romy Vase and stuff it full of a single variety stem such as Pampas Grass or Fern Stem for maximum impact"

2. Value for money.

"Unless you have the budget of Elton John who famously fills his house with fresh flowers every week, faux botanicals are a savvy investment.  With the right care there's no reason your flowers won't last forever, and you can change them up for the seasons, no floppy stems in vases, your flowers will always look just as perky as when you first bought them."

3. Great news for allergy sufferers.

"Real flowers and some plants can be a nightmare for those of us that suffer with allergies, if this is you - you definitely need to 'go with the faux'."

4. Mood boosting benefits.

"It's well written about the mood boosting benefits of having real plants and flowers in your home but apparently there's now evidence to suggest that faux plants and artificial flowers have the same visual relief that real flowers and plants offer, managing to dampen anxiety and effortlessly de-stress us after a hard day at work, clever no?"

5. Pet friendly.

"Some real flowers and plants can be toxic to our precious pets. I prefer not to have that stress around my furry kids, so going faux is the perfect solution for us pet lovers."
